Fluffy Chocolate Mousse

Rich and creamy, yet light and fluffy chocolate mousse will delight your taste buds and please you guests. It’s easy to make and ready to eat within few hours.

Fluffy Chocolate Mousse

What ingredients will I need?

  • 3 medium eggs (yolks and whites separated)
  • 125g  dark chocolate (ideally 70%)
  • 10g unsalted butter
  • 125 ml heavy cream + more for decoration
  • 3 tablespoon caster sugar (ideally white)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Chocolate shavings 
  • Strawberry jam for decoration 

How can I make this dessert?

  1.  Place yolks in a small bowl and whites in a large bowl. Whisk yolks.
  2.  Melt chocolate and butter in the water bath until smooth. Set aside to cool.
  3. In another small bowl, beat cream until stiff. 
  4. Add sugar and pinch of salt to whites. Beat whites until stiff. 
  5. Fold egg yolks into cream. Use a rubber spatula. A few streaks left are alright. 
  6. Pour lukewarm chocolate mixture into cream yolk. Fold. (Streaks are alright).
  7. Add 1/4 of beaten whites into chocolate mixture. Fold properly. 
  8. Pour chocolate mixture into egg whites. Fold through gently until incorporated. 
  9. Divide the mixture between 4 small glasses. 
  10. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  11. When serving, garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. Add little strawberry jam on the top.
